L.A.T. Newsletter
by Brenda McCormick

The newsletter is reaching out - even further than I'm sending it !  Thanks to those of you who are passing it along to people you keep in touch with who were not on the list.  I've been getting e-mail from a number of you asking to be included in future distributions and I will do my best to keep this list current.

Here's a rundown on the latest news and contacts I've made.  Marilyn VanBlaricon (former Vickers), from the very early Denver days, celebrated a milestone birthday in June.  Marilyn has been with US West since leaving Total. Terry DeWinter is really keeping busy: teaching part time at Parks College and Regis University, recently getting his broker's license and running his own company.  He reports that the old "Cracker Club" is planning their annual fishing trip for September and will include, Terry, Tom Richards, Cliff Cummings, Neil Daily, Charlie Fiske, Bob Reinkemeyer and Dave Bocks.  Happy Fishing guys !

I ran into Phil Ruiz in Parker on the 4th of July.  He left Total at the changeover of Cap Gemini/EDS and is now living in the same area as my sister.  Small world!  Kris Card, who was recently downsized as a result of her employer's closing it's Denver office, took this summer off but is now back to work in Boulder at SCC Communications.

Jerry Jones has removed himself from the corporate world and has purchased the distribution rights for the entire state of Michigan for Mountain Man Nut & Fruit Company.  We visited him and Diane again this summer at their home on Houghton Lake.  They also have a new grandson.

A downtown Denver tidbit to pass along.  Those of you who occasionally stopped in at the Silk Road for a Friday night happy hour may be interested to know that it has closed.  Maybe we really were keeping the place going !

Rick Kisser was named CFO of Meteor Industries, Inc. in June.  Scott Paulson is Operations Manager of the company owned stores for Silco Oil.  He talks to Larry Rogers and Ken Pawlowski on a regular basis.  Those are two names I haven't heard in quite some time.  Scott, you need to give us an update on what those two are up to.  Bill Seamon called over the summer.  He's working downtown for Jacob's Engineering.  Bill's company did some work for the Alma Refinery so he's been in touch with a few of those folks.

Scott Topham and wife Kelly are back in Colorado, living in Highlands Ranch.  You never know  who might show up at a happy hour.  Our latest get-together at the Wynkoop on August 25th included Christian Cabrol.  In addition to some of us who keep in touch on a more regular basis, others that I hadn't seen in quite some time included, Scott Bristol, Virg Musil, Bob Hitchens, Dan Clayton, Bruce Sims,  Rick Kisser and David Scarbeary.  Hitchens is selling
real estate and having a great time. Scarbeary has left US West and started a new job at Time Warner Cable.

Ran into Steve Hanley recently at US West.  He and Kimberly (Hannum) are new parents.  Their son is five months old.  I heard from Steve Graeve's brother (US West) that Steve and Deb added another new member to their family this spring.  Also had a recent message from Kay Chavez who is still at JD Edwards.  Mary Bogan did some extensive travel in the early months after Total and is now doing free-lance Spanish language interpretation for some of
the courts in the metro area.

Margarita Gallego has started her own business infOASIS, Inc., currently in the Tech Center area but hoping to get relocated to the downtown area.  A good sized group got together in September at the Morrison Inn to celebrate
Tracy (Wilkins) Adcock's birthday.  Good to see some old familiar faces.  Carol Van Law and her husband were there with their new baby.  Doug and Diane Kerner were also in town recently and were scheduled to gather at the Morrison Inn.  I had to miss that one as we were in Steamboat Springs that day.  Hope everyone had a good time.

Any of you who will be in the area are invited to join the gang at our next get-together on Friday, November 12th, 5PM at the Rock Bottom Brewery downtown on the 16th Street Mall.  Please note, I have a new e-mail address at home e-mail:  Brenda.McCormick@qwest.com.  Keep the updates coming !
