L.A.T. Newsletter

February 1999
Welcome to the premier edition of
the L.A.T. (Life After Total) Newsletter. This February 1999 edition will
be short, sweet and sent to a limited number of people who will, I hope respond
with feedback on whether or not it should continue. It will also be limited to
the facts on people I've kept in touch with, since I'm not out to become a
gossip columnist here!
It's been over year now since some of us embarked on
new careers. Despite best intentions and because I wasn't smart enough to take
the summer off, I've not kept up with as many people as I'd have liked. Here's
what I know.
Julie Tooke and Rich Martinez are working together in
HR at Sun Microsystems in Broomfield
- a long commute for both of them. Bev O''Toole is now working n a bank right up
in her neighborhood - no commute for her. Tommy Berry is working for Price
Waterhouse Coopers based in Houston,
so spending a lot of time in airports these days. Dick Dana is keeping pretty
busy for a guy who just celebrated that early retirement birthday. He's doing
some stuff for UDS (as is Denise Beisel) and serving on a board or two around
town. Scott Topham was married in July and he and wife Kelly are now living in Phoenix where Scott is working
with his brother. I ran into Debbie Spencer this fall near Park Meadows. She
enjoyed a summer off and was about to start a new job at Omni Trax as their
property tax manager. Dan Clayton is working for Gary Williams Energy and has a
wedding coming up in the month of February . Jim Mccoy, she's working for Citgo
in Tulsa, lost
his wife Patricia to cancer last fall. Word is that Doug & Diane Kerner are
enjoying California.
Denise (Mitchell) Ehler and Jeff Hoskins are working for the same company
which, I think, has something to do with POS computer systems (hope that's not
totally inaccurate!). Rose Robeson was made a Vice President at KN Energy this
spring and Gail Sykes, also at KN is reported to have a diamond engagement ring
that will knock your socks off (I got that from a good source and sorry if it
smacks a bit of gossip column!). This does too but - Tracy Wilkins and Clif
Adcock, who were married this summer, showed up at a Rock Bottom happy hour
this fall and looked happy as can be. Also making an appearance that evening
were Joyce and Richard Glaze, Mike Eha, Linda Weber, Paul Murphy, Roger &
Sue Bittell, Doug Mast, Karen Ildau, and probably a few others I'm forgetting.
A few of us have ended up at U S WEST. Kris Ciccollo,
Tracy Mastel, Todd Staebell, David Scarbeary, Steve Hanley and yours truly.
Some of us were lucky enough to be there to experience the strike last summer,
what a treat. The place is huge so you never see people, even if they do happen
to work in the same building. Bruce Sims dropped by my office last fall. he
enjoyed a summer off and was about to get into serious job search mode. Kris
Card is back working downtown for a company that provides services to the legal
community. I ran into Laura Gallegos at a downtown restaurant, she's at
Manville. Visited Jerry & Diane Jones at their home ion Houghton Lake
during our Michigan
vacation last summer. Peg Downing took a trip to Europe
last summer and is hoping to get back soon to see the things she missed the
first time around. to the best of my knowledge Bill Bettag is still at JD
Edwards as is Kay Chavez. Richard Marrs is with SAP and spends most of his time
in California.
LeAnn Klinetobe handles all the recruiting for Micro Motion in Boulder as an outside consultant for AON.
"Dr. Bob" Belote didn't make it to Scott's wedding this summer
because he was off to Europe on business for
Sunstrand.
Without having to think too hard, that's what I know.
So - give me your feedback (good, bad or indifferent) and let's see where we go
from here. I'm sure many of you out there have things to share about yourselves
and the people you're keeping in touch with that we'd all like to hear. Here's
how you can reach me:
